Orff Music & Movement Classes
Instructor Janet Greene teaches Orff Music and Movement Classes at Wischemann Hall. The Orff Schulwerk: A joyful approach to music and dance education. Musical stories, rhymes, songs, creative movement, multi-cultural folk dances and imaginative play lead children into the world of music and dance. All students play in an orchestra of magical-sounding Orff xylophones and glockenspiels. Older students play recorders and keyboard, read and compose their own music and dances. The Orff approach provides a strong instrumental, vocal and rhythmic foundation. In an atmosphere of play and and discovery, children explore their own unique talents and create a caring musical community.
Janet Greene, MA, is the music specialist at Oak Grove and Forestville Elementary Schools. and has taught in Bali and Thailand.
